No, I am not insane. Well maybe a little bit. But that has nothing to do with me selling my huge full-frame Canon and the hubble-like lenses.
Because as nice as a full-frame image may be, lugging around that huge piece of glass and metal really isn’t any fun. For a while now I started to use the Canon less and less and whenever possible switched to my cute little rangefinder Fuji X100s. I love how it handles, I love the images it produces and I love how people don’t mind it like they would a dslr. So for a while now I had my eye on the bigger and more capable rangefinders, especially the X-Pro 2. Promising body with enormous capalities, fantastic lenses…what is not to like?
So last week I finally did it. Even though I at first wasn’t sure, once the first items where sold I couldn’t wait to pull the trigger on the X-Pro 2.
At this point I have to remark though how damn stable Canon equipment, especially the L-lenses, is in it’s price. Which of course made the joy of selling it even greater.
So now two fine Fuji rangefinders sit on my desk, the X-Pro 2 waiting to be put through its paces. I’m quite happy with this change in equipment since it also means the full on switch to having only prime lenses again. Zooming with the Canon made me quite lazy and probably often hindered me in achieving better compositions. But thats all over now, stay tuned for a detailed experience-report on my new favorite camera!
